Learn How To Knit Socks - Sundays, November 10 & 17. 1-3pm

Level 2: You can cast on, knit, purl, and comfortably knit in the round.

Socks inspired my initial interest in knitting. Now, with hundreds of socks under my belt, I hope I can pass along the joy sock knitting brings me! Using a DK-weight sock pattern, we’ll go over knitting in small circumferences, knitting a heel flap, turning a heel, doing gusset decreases, toe decreases, and kitchener stitch! In addition to these techniques, we’ll talk about getting the right fit, choosing sock yarn, and any other questions you may have along the way!

Please begin your sock cuff before coming to class! Ideally you would be ready to begin your heel during the first session.

Materials required:

• High Desert Socks Pattern by Lindsey Fowler
• 1 100g skein of DK weight sock yarn (a light-medium colored superwash merino skein work excellent for this)

OR

• 1 100g skein of fingering weight sock yarn + 2 contrasting mini skeins
• US 3, 24” circular needle (my preferred needle) OR US 3 DPNs OR US 3, 9” circular needle
• Tapestry needle
• Stitch markers, at least one that is removable!
