Every week crafters from all walks of life gather in our Southeast Portland shop to stitch, spin and and be together in community. We strive to be welcoming to all and provide a place for folks to come as they are, be themselves, and find common ground over a shared love of knitting, crochet, spinning and many other crafts.

Mckenzie is the creative force behind Emtothethird Yarn Co., a small business that combines her love for fiber arts, natural dyes, and graphic design. She's been a Starlite since 2021. A passionate knitter and educator, Mckenzie is dedicated to fostering a deep appreciation for handmade community. Mckenzie's vibrant color palette, inspired by her queer and Latinx identities, is reflected in her knitting and dyeing projects.

Tim became a Starlite in 2017 when he moved to Portland from Upstate NY. Since then he has been working in theater, textiles and slinging wool with the best of ‘em. He is a happy youngest sibling and the other half of Sibling Energy: A Mostly Knitting Podcast. He loves community and enjoys knit nights at Starlight.
